" It happened so fast we are just now trying to move on slowly.
His passing has affected us as well as our friends & family very hard. For an English Bulldog he was a very intelligent bulldog thanks to your help . Stubborn at times with his little " Im not in the mood look" once you clicked he came running and sat up for you " Im here".Everyone who came in contact with Nauty always complimented on how well behaved he was, how obedient he was, how friendly he was. All this would not have been possible with out you Leslie, Billy ( RIP ), BB, and Talley. We wanted to let you know since you were the only one that made him listen & learn quickly.
When we are ready for other companions, we will be contacting you to help us once again. You methods of training are the best!"

It is good to hear from hear from you as well! Tank is doing really well! My wife and I just had our first child in April and Tank is doing an outstanding job with the baby! We where a little nervous at first just because he is so big (85 lbs), but we all have adjusted well. In the past few months we taught Tank how to shake, which he picked up on really fast (with in a hour). Our only issue now with Tank is that when people come to the house he is extremely excited to see them, and at times he jumps on people. We our so glad that we completed class you!

A +++++ Review:

I have a dog with Stranger issues. During the first session with Leslie saw vast improvement with him. It has been about a month and I am very well pleased with the progress he has made. The training was simple her advice and knowledge was perfect. I am no longer afraid to have people come into my house. Just two days ago a “unknown person to my dog” person came into my house for a Christmas visit and my dog was interested in them but clam. Thank you! Leslie.

"Our family gained so much from our classes with Leslie Fisher. We first met her at a home visit with our 8 week old puppy, then continued on to Good Manners/AKC STAR Puppy Program. Leslie has a way of helping you see that you are capable of getting the behavior you want from your dog. She was able to customize her class content to fit the dogs who attended. She never got frustrated with a dog who had challenges, just thought of new ways to tackle an issue. My family felt that our dog and our family mattered to Leslie, and our dog, Miley, just adored her! Can't wait to find time in our schedule for the level 2 class!"

Great help:

My adopted 3-year old black lab recently developed on leash aggression toward other dogs that was intense and escalating. After completing a two-week board and train with Leslie at Rainwood, there has been substantial improvement in her behavior. She is generally more responsive to all commands. Leslie worked with me to show me the tools to deal with the issue with confidence. The best part, however, is that Rugby enjoyed the training! Leslie uses positive reinforcement and play, and it makes a huge difference. I highly recommend Leslie as a trainer and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great class and wonderful trainer:

We got Rio from a rescue and he had some issues as far as recall and general manners. He was somewhat fearful since he was a stray at one time and had been moved around from shelters to rescue homes . A leash to him meant he was being taken somewhere to be left. Leslie worked with all his fears and trained us as well to work with him. He has come a long way after Leslie's class. He still has some work but I have to say with Leslie's help he is a much better companion for our household. Leslie was so kind and took a real interest in all the dogs in the class. Dave, Rio and I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into family. All the ladies that helped out in the class gave us insights on how to handle problems with the dogs. I would recommend Leslie's classes to anyone

FEARFUL DOG

Leslie was great in helping with our fearful dog. She provided a wealth of information as well as techniques to help when introducing new people. Other training including clicker and target training which we have used to help retain attention with distractions. She is wonderful to work with and went out of her way to help us on a recent trip. Only wished we lived closer.

Recently we started having issues with our english bulldog Jayda. She would not listen, wanted to attack my wife and others that would visit our house. After doing a great deal of research, I contacted Leslie. We agreed to bring Jayda in for an evaluation and if then decided the 2 week "boot camp" as I would call it would be the best for Jayda. While I was very hesitant that Leslie would be able to do anything for Jayda clear up to the end of week 1 I had the same concerns as well as my wife had the same. Boy were we both proven wrong. Leslie had performed major changes with Jayda. She would sit,
she would lay down, she would walk normal. After the 2nd week we were hoping for more improvement. We got it, now we tell her to go to bed and she does. She does not bark at things nor does she pull or jump. After a week of being at home we went away, so we decided to go for anthoer 2 days. AND IT GOT BETTER. SHe is a great dog now. Anyone with a bulldog should understand"

Text: "I was very impressed by the positive approach of training our puppy! Our dog, Reef, quickly learned to sit, lay down, come, stay and more! I now know how to continue to practice training him to do the above outside too with a million distractions! Thank you Leslie! I really enjoyed your calm demeanor and how you took your time and knowledgeably answered every question we had! Our dog loved when Leslie came to our house!"

GREAT TRAINER:

We recently relocated to Delaware from Texas, and we were looking for a trainer for our 10 year old dog. He is an anxious guy, and we wanted to work on socializing him and helping him with his fears. We found Leslie online, and we lucked out with an excellent trainer! She came to our home for a 90 minute session to assess our dog's behavior, and a week or two later Leslie trained our dog while we boarded him at Rainwood Kennels. Our dog had a wonderful experience, which contrasts from his stressful visits to a kennel in Dallas. Leslie took the time to find out what motivated him, and she used those things to make his training and his stay pleasant. We couldn't recommend Leslie more for anyone wanting to learn more about their dog as well as improve their dog's behavior."

GREAT PLACE!!

Leslie has mastered the art of "clicker training". She is able to transfer this knowledge to others with remarkable skill. I have trained dogs for 25 years...and it is my opinion that an owner and dog can make great progress if the techniques used are not punitive and are well illustrated. This describes the "Look What I Can Do! training class to a T! There are many trainers that are still stuck on the old punishment based methods that will undoubtedly lead some dogs down the road to a dismal fate. I see prong collars being sold to people by pet store sales persons that have no more training expertise than a fence post. Yet they are fitting these collars and sending people out to undoubtedly end up with a fearful...and even worse agressive dog.
Do yourself a favor...resist the macho yank and jerk methods so popular many years ago...Positive reinforcement clicker training is the most effective and most likely to produce a well adjusted family pet.

I have two nine month old mini Dachshunds, Abbie and Mila. My husband and I brought the puppies home when they were eight months old. They had never been socialized or trained in any way. They didn't even know how to go to the bathroom outside. I took Leslie's 5 week course and my girls are now able to do attention, sit, come, stay, and are working on down. Also, with the help of the atricles that were provided to me I was able to minimize the pouting the dogs were doing while crated. The girls are also less fearful of people which is a tremendous relief. Thank you Leslie for helping my doggies!

Recently I heard from client Karen Dwyer about the wonderful success her Chihuahua Rudy is having in the show ring. She attributes at least part of his success to early  handling and training with Look What I Can Do!, that helped shape that confident and winning attitude. With her permission, I have copied excerpts of an email from her. Rudy can also be seen in the Hall of Fame Rainwood Dogs and Cats album.

""Those little sessions that we had with Rudy were the key I think.  Rudy is very receptive to training.  And he has an elephant memory!  Just that little bit of training...the up and backs and the table work...all paid off.  It was funny.  Sue didn't know that we had trained him in a certain way.   When I watched the first week they were out, I let her know what I saw.  He was trying to get out in front when he was moving...the way we trained him...and he was trying to stop in front and look at the judge...the way we taught him.  He also started putting his little face in the hand of the judge...like you did with him.  I told her that we had trained him to do all that....and she was surprised.  Most people just hand over "a mess"! hehehe  When she let him do what we had trained...which were all the right things to do...he really took off!  She couldn't believe how great he did!  It was evident from that point that the training had stuck...and it was the right training...and the right method.  She took what we did and just embelished it and enhanced his best features.  Rudy is the only Chi that goes right up to the judge and looks up (waiting for his chicken, hehehe) and wags his tail!  It has really had some very positive impact on the judges!  Everyone tries to turn the dog to the side so that's what the judge sees...but it looked to me like the judges wanted to see the Chi's look up at them....and they all seem to have something to make the dogs look.  One had tic tacs and would shake them in his pocket...but every one of them has something.  Rudy will trot straight up to them and look.  Others will shy away!  It's really sad.  He's not the best put together little guy...others have better confirmation...but what he has...it seems most of the others don't have...and that's his attitude.  And he's got that attitude from his training!  And Sue realizes it was our work that shaped Rudy's responses.   I told her to make a Rudy you have to get them when they are 8 weeks and have to work with them until they are 8 months.  That will give you your best results.

Karen""    Thanks Karen!  I can`t wait to see Rudy again, the little man with attitude.

Thank you, Leslie and Bridgett, for helping my human and me work together. My human thought that she would have to give me away, but you helped us work through some major issues and I've adjusted now to my new home. I no longer try to bite my doggie sister, and can peacefully walk in my neighborhood without problems. You knew just what to do so that I could be a happy and healthy dog, and with the exception of jumping on the bed for morning greetings (I just can't help it!) my humans are very happy with me. Thank you! Buster. (My Chessie Buddy) 9/7/08

We took our 4 month puppy to Level 1 training. I fully support the training method as I do not believe in choker or prong style collars to train dogs. The class was very good for level one learning and Leslie is always willing to help if you are having any issues. She also offers hand-outs and solutions to any specific items you may be experiencing. I also recommend the puppy socialization classes as well.

This is a testimonial from Look What I Can Do! Dog Training to the Veterinary Practices that are such an integral part of my business:  Elk Neck Vet Clinic, North East MD, Oxford Animal Hospital, Oxford PA,  and Animal Hospital of Havre de Grace.  The staff and Vets at all  locations have been consistently supportive to my business from the beginning, and invested their faith in me when I was just starting out.  They are all continuing to refer to me on a regular basis, so I would venture to say that I have not disappointed! More recently I have had referrals from the North East Animal Hospital , Dr. Mindy Carletti,All Paws Wellness in Cecil County, as well as Swan Creek and Churchville Veterinary, the latter both in Harford County. Also referring from Harford is Dr. Ezra Yavuz, Bel Air Animal Hospital.  Dr. James Beech, Walnut Hill in PA, is also referring. in  Local Animal Rescues are also referring. Out of all the advertising I have done, developing trusting relationships with local vets has been my most valuable resource by far.  Two local Pet Stores as well have been an invaluable source of referrals, Concord Pets on 213 South of Elkton and Pet Valu in the Big Elk Mall. The latter now offers a 15 % discount from one item,  to new clients of Look What I Can Do!, when presenting a coupon.

Thanks to all of you, very greatly appreciated!

With Appreciation,
